I think his wife's name was Grace. It was not thought appropriate for the women to spend much time talking to me, unless they were businesswomen. Wives were mostly like servants, rather than hostesses, and maybe it is still the case.

They were all very shy and shocked, I think, that I was there. The man was one of my Kenyan craft dealers when I had a wholesale business. (Sigghhh, that was another life!) He asked me to bring new clothes for his family, which they are wearing. The boy was super-thrilled to have Levis and an American football shirt.
