Majestic Barmouth
Just a few yards away from my previous photo one can get views like this. We are looking down to the south edge of the town. It mainly faces the sea on the other side of the rock face we see here. A very long hike if we would have wanted to walk down from this viewpoint. Of course the star of this photo is Barmouth’s historic railway viaduct along with its now defunct swinging bridge. The distant hills belong to the Llŷn Peninsula and the Island to the left is Bardsley Island.
‘Barmouth's location on the west coast of North Wales and lying between a mountain range and the sea on the mouth of the river Mawddach is arguably one of the most beautiful locations in Wales. It rests just within the south west corner of Snowdonia National Park and is steeped in a history rich with connections to the shipping and slate industries.’

Enjoy full screen.

I've been on a couple of photo holidays to Wales with friends and we based ourselves in Porthmadog, which doesn't seem to far from here.........although we never made it round that way, more's the pity!
