Rainbow at Higher Swineshaw reservoir
Another chance here to see the exact same rainbow as I posted with a fence just a few days back. (see PiP) This time we see it with a wall instead of the wooden gated fence and unlike the other, this shows both ends too. Another two-photo stitch with unfortunately the left side being not as sharp as the right but I hope you will forgive me for posting it in despite of that.
Again a few rain drops highlighted as noise near the bow itself from the bright light behind me.

Thanks Rosa. I see lots of rainbows but seldom do I have a camera at hand. In this instance, like the shot I got in Scotland, I was lucky. You too will get some like this in time.

A glorious rainbow Herb..............I agree with Isabel about the sharpness............it doesn't matter at all. The contrast is good though which is superb.

I also like the detail in the dry stone wall, which is spot on and the earthy colours in the landscape, which are really beautiful and well lit.

I know what you and Isabel mean in regard to sharpness. I know from paintings that sharpness can sometimes be a distraction. The stone does have a certain charm I must admit and the light -well you know how i work. Great that I passed the test with flying colours :)

It depends on the subject and context I guess..............if the wall had been out of focus it would have been far too noticeable.

Anyway as a rainbow is formed by light reflecting off water droplets in the air, i suspect it would be pretty near impossible to get one perfectly sharp!

It is interesting that 'Alexander's dark band' is far less visible in this picture, yet only a few seconds different.
