Rocks Beach, Anglesey

Rocks Beach, Anglesey
Just west of the coastal village of Moelfre is a pretty strange beach. It is strewed with pebbles and rocks. Over time visitors have built many small rock towers, this photo showing only a small portion of it. At first we thought it might be in memory of something that happened here but no, I cannot find any references to that. It was in fact a bit difficult even to find the path onto this beach. The first PiP shows a close-up and the second PiP shows a small distant island with a tower that could also be seen from here. (Ynys Dulas)

Enjoy full screen.

Steve Paxton, Marco F. Delminho, J. Gafarot, Tractacus and 22 other people have particularly liked this photo

A great shot and PiPs, Herb. It seems there is something of a fashion to make these little towers, they have appeared everywhere over the past few years.

Thanks George, now that I am reminded, I seem to remember something like this on Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean. It reminds me of the idea of pudding padlocks on bridge railing. No doubt one person built a tower and then another person followed suit. Glad you liked it.

Oh a long time Poly, especially the big one on the Island. The ships were fortunate for me. (They are waiting to go into Liverpool docks.)

Nice to see you again Daniela. The ones on your Wiki look like 'Cairns' that are place on high hills and mountains here. Those are a pile of different rocks, wider at the bottom quite unlike these balancing on each other.

What a great find Herb.................all those little stacks make for an really interesting image.

I especially like the close up shot in the first PiP. The details are superb. I like the second PiP too - that big stack in the middle must have taken years to make :-))

Have a good week my friend.

A fine little beach that I am sure you would have made even more of than me, my friend. Good that you liked the PiP's Too.

Interesting find Herb. You either skim the small ones on the water or build a tower with the bigger stones I suppose!
