Memories of Tuscany: Volterra

Memories of Tuscany: Volterra
Our next hilltop town is Volterra known as the gem of Tuscany. Here we are just outside one of the walled gateways. Another medieval town of character and some high towers too. The domed building seen here is The Baptistery San Giovanni.

(The main entrance road is seen below to the left with the parked cars.)

What wonderful views they must have Herb! I love these old and seemingly unspoilt hilltop towns and villages. Another beautiful Tuscan view. Cheers, Rosa.

What a lovely looking town...........I like the look of the architecture and the detail you've captured. I love the patches of green from the trees, especially the one in the foreground which anchors the shot nicely.

Another beautiful capture Herb!

I love very much all those medieval towns. I'm happy we have the chance to have so much, mostly in Central Italy.

Italy is just so beautiful Daniela. I loved these hill-top towns as well as the beautiful cities of Tuscany but I liked the Dolomites and Lakes too as well as the Alps and Venice... oh and that is only the start :)

Keep safe, Herb

In Volterra I'd been too...both cities I saw several times. But what I saw the first time was Gimigliano.
Have you been there too?
