Visions of Park Bridge: Ye olde pump house.

Visions of Park Bridge: Ye olde pump house.
This little corner was part of the coal colliery that was sited here. It will have certainly have housed a steam engine as running from here and still present is a small water-way that leads to the weir. Later in its life it was also used in conjunction with the nearby iron works. To me, it has always been a ruin, that should not be a surprise as the cessation of coal mining here was in 1887.

Nice full screen.

Ah yes, we do have a lot of these old ruins. You can never be sure what you may see as you round a bend, even in the most picturesque of places. After a few days of rain along with bright warm spells these greens will be even more radiant today. Glad you liked it.

Keep well. Herb

This is really lovely Herb. I like the way the ruin is tucked away behind the fence amidst the greenery..........and I love that nature is slowly reclaiming the walls.

It looks superb in the sunlight. Very well captured!

Hi Keith. This building was always most interesting. When I first knew of it, it had no fence ( I think). As you say, nature is reclaiming it fine. Glad you liked this lighting too.

At the moment Joe, we have a lot of interesting summer light. I was fortunate here to get it like this. Fortunate too that my RAW digital capture allows me to take in low contrast and then gain bits back in my editing. Glad you enjoyed it.

A fine place that is generally very quite nowadays. It would have been filled with noise in its day though.

Nature is slowly taking over, it looks a very substantial building for an engine house look at the thickness of the wall

Those walls could belong to a castle Peter. But, a lot of stone around here and so no problems getting the materials. Glad it piqued your interest. As you sat, nature is taking over again.

Enjoy this Sunday. Herb
