Singing for Spring

Singing for Spring
As we stay at home in self-isolation on this beautiful Spring day, our local robin is as 'free-as-a-bird'. His song up here in one of our higher garden trees is quite exquisite and is thankfully answered back in the distance by another of his kind.

A sight to remind us of the beauty of our world in these dangerous and sad days of C19. I wish all of you in the same or even worst position than us to keep this sight in mind. We will get over this and enjoy the freedom like these birds again soon.

Good to see you Dave. Hope you are not getting bored being kept away from your beloved Peaks. Keep those rolls of wallpaper straight too! We will laugh when it is all over!

Oh to be as free as a bird again Herb! Two super shots....I wish I could hear the song! My robin hasn't been around for a while. I hope he returns....I miss him! HFF.
Have as good a weekend as possible, but most of all take care and stay healthy.

Thanks Rosa. This winter has seen a multiple of birds every day on our feeder but most of those are now disappearing in favour of more natural food and nesting area's. However our Robin remains with us and is always keen to come quite close to see what we are doing. I must admit that I have never heard him sing so sweet as on this occasion. I hope yours comes back soon.

Keep very safe my friend. Herbert

A cracking shot of this gorgeous little bird. I love the tangled branches against the sky. A super close up version in the PiP too. Nicely done matey!

European robins sound much nicer than our American ones. But we listened to a house finch (which you would call a linnet) this morning who was doing his best to impress the ladies in the neighborhood.

Good to see you Sarah. We also have lots if finches in our garden including, green and gold finches. Always great to see these small colourful birds but a whole family of magpies have also moved near and are terrorising our garden bird population.

Keep safe and good. Herb
