The River Dee from Keiloch Crag

The River Dee from Keiloch Crag
A grand walk through the Invercauld Estate on these crags gives ample rewards. We are looking west towards Braemar around the far valley corner on the left and the invisible majestic Invercauld House below, and so for us viewers stood here, just beautiful landscapes I am afraid.

Enjoy large

Can not tell why but my first thought was . . . Schubert.
Well done Herb.

Maybe you are thinking of the Schuberts; "Das Forellen Quintett/Trout Quintet D.667 Op114". Many of the old records of this famous piece had pictures like this on the cover. (But maybe a little closer to the river. I hope to put that right soon too.)

Thanks for enjoying. Regards, Herbert

Thank you Herb for this kind words.
Maybe we know many things now about the universe but people still are a friendly and sometimes very closed nut full of mistery.
Again Thanks, enjoy a nice evening.

Another majestic view! As you've probably guessed, I really like this one Herb!

Beautifully composed as always and from a nice high perspective.............the trees in the foreground, with their different green tones are lovely. I also like the way the river meanders into the distant hills and mountains..............which make a wonderful backdrop!

Definitely view large folks............you're in for a treat!

I noticed in the walk statistics that this walk should take around 2 hours max. I'm guessing that it took you much longer because you kept stopping to take photos :-))

Ah Keith - yet another one of my photos to please you. Either you are easily pleased or as I really hope, you are just in the same mindset as me for such vista's. On this morning walk I took about 50 shots but perhaps (not always sure), I liked this one the best as it so encapsulates what I take to be a 'true' landscape. Almost all the right ingredients all placed in the correct places -how could I go wrong! Even the sky looks OK on this, (that being said, I can never be sure until reading comments like yours here!) Very happy that you enjoyed it, and many thanks for your extra advice to my viewers to view this large too.

Cheers, Herb

So beautiful, with great depth Herb. I was also going to mention the meandering river...but Keith got there first! However, there is so much to like in this scene! Large is a must!

Thanks Rosa. Yes the famous Royal Deeside meandering river seen at its best here. Behind, about 3 miles is Balmoral Castle , it is of no wonder Queen Victoria and Price Albert so fell in love with this area. A true calendar shot here maybe. So glad that you took Keith's advice and saw it all large. He is an early bird, as he admits!

You and I are of the same mind with landscapes Toz. A land of opportunities up here in NE Scotland which for me was a bit of a shock. Just booked a 5 night coach tour/holiday in the Highlands in the middle of Winter and so some real Winter landscapes perhaps albeit restricted due to touring in that fashion. Quite a few more from up here to come first though. Cheers for the YS. ~ Herb
