Storm at Rossbeigh

Storm at Rossbeigh
After a night of torrential rain, the day starts wet and very windy with gust up to 70mph. Anyway, not deterred, we took to the beach that we could see clearly form our lounge window. As you can see, with the wind blowing spume and sand everywhere - this was not for the feint hearted with an expensive camera kit in hand. Forgive the slight softness of the picture here, I had to wipe my lens a few times to rid salt water and sand :) About a mile of this walk before we gave up and retreated for coffee back in the warmth.

Thanks for that Andy. You cannot tell from here, but this is actually a peninsula, so there is more sea behind the dunes to our right and directly ahead about another 500yrds too. Across the sea there -shown in the distance here, is an almost duplicate peninsular directly to our north, almost an hours drive away by car. Glad you liked this walk with me.

Given the weather, you did well to capture this scene and I can imagine your concern about the camera and lens with sand and spray flying around. I'd say you deserved your coffee afterwards. :-)

Thanks George, we thought we deserved it too. I was hiding my camera underneath my waterproof coat most of the time but it caught the weather after only moments of exposure. (Freudian slip here me thinks :) ) Cheers for another great visit, Herb
