Stirling Bridge

A shot that came from a night I could only take one lens out as it was my only waterproof lens. I chose to hide under the bridge as a huge rain shower went by look at the bridge drains to see the amount of water that was falling above.

NGC5139 Star Cluster - Omega Centauri
As we are almost in the Doldrums of targets as the huge Body of the Emu has to rise to be able to see any other targets' it was a case of retry this and get a pleasing image. The key is when taking these not to blow out the core of the cluster so easy to do but this was spot on exposure . This is not cropped this is the full shot both the others got a small crop.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omega_Centauri
A third look at this Huge Star Cluster one of the biggest in the skies. This is the result of one night and 229 shot 2 min long. The real result is from a better understanding of Editing and a lot more time taking these shots.

NGC 6397 Star Cluster

This is a small cluster on the inside of the milky way( this time of year) that has always caught my eye as a possible target. unlike the next its very small but still has a bright core as an experiment I took this as 5 min exposures. on reflection I think I should have used the same as the very bright Omega Centauri 2 min. Part of the learning curve of space.

Blue Fairy Wren Male

These little birds and you are looking at the fullsize of the shot so you get an idea just how small they are. They dont stay still for very long at all most cases by the time you found them and got focus they are gone from the shot this male was happy in the warmth of the sun.

Ducks Leaving

At The Chestnut farm while everybody sat and ate the chestnuts I went for a walk in the bush by the lake. I put the 150-600mm lens on as there is likely to be birds in the native bush.

I can not find the name for this group so it remains nameless but in the area Of VDBH 70 but certainly not VDBH 70.I like the shapes of this lot by look at these has been cut short by rain so this is all that will be taken. The previous image is almost a screenshot away from this to the left side of the shot.
There are a few more that look interesting in the half of the milky way yet to come up that I will also do that are not the usual deep space object every body takes photos of.

Part of the reason it took the photos of the milky way was to see if there some more interesting targets worth a shot at. The normal targets that astro photographers do have all been done so it was try some thing very different possibly not done before.
what you are looking at is the first faint Red dot from the Right in the PIP below of the milky way shot from last year.. If you are not sure click on the photo below look at the first pip from the right.
I did not know this name I only knew where to find it in the milky way but as told that it did have a name. I am also shooting a second target looks rather interesting as well not far from this target as well.

Solar Eclipse - Leaf filters
I was working the day of the eclipse at school. I was painting a room but kept my eye on the time. I joined all the kids out on the play area with there home made solar filters that showed the sun on the white paper below. As I had my camera I spotted nature's own pinhole filter the leaves on the trees down the path.
I was able to see the solar eclipse for real as one person had a set of real sun filters so you could look at the sun. We got to see a crescent like moon. I kick myself not ever buying a solar filter for my camera set up. You can be sure that will be coming up soon.

In the center of a huge round about on the four points of the compass this huge set of statues. Despite the size here they are bigger than the street lighting poles. A shot from my past .
