I stayed past the time of moon rise to capture the moon as it rose through the tree but I found this that is better.

Lucky shot- Do look on black to get the effect of…

Looking back through last months photos I found this shot I did not see. In all my years taking photos at this spot I have never been this lucky.
Trucks are always a problem at night as they head West along the highway below the Rocks. there high beams are so strong they ruin a shot as they come up the straight to these rocks then turn North. how lucky can you get the Rock is Perfectly lit from behind.
In the trees.

I set out to find my limits for single shots tracked I started with 20 sec then worked up to 1 min by 10 sec intervals. So I stayed within the trees so I had a reference point.
40 sec looks ok as long as you dont look at the trees very close I believe 30 sec is the real limit but still not as crisp as a static 20 sec shot in truth.
Any thoughts ???
The Southern Pole

This will give you an Idea how this method really does work, why its worth thinking outside the square. Remember I can not see these with my eyes just on the camera sensor. A 9 min shot to get the stars to trail around the pole.
A real world photo of the same areas detailing the parts .
Milky Way At 30 seconds

A night that was a trial to see if I could use the tracker as part of my normal night photography.
Full 30 seconds on the Nikon timer not 20.

Setting up the polar alignment
this shows that it works even 5 min exposure you could not tell till you looked full screen there was slight trailing. Setting show you how it changed From ISO 5000 15 sec exposure once you get it right.

On a knifes edge

This Rock 3.5m high and just about the same at the top, sits on nothing at all. it would be sad to see this Rock go its sitting on a knifes edge. it is not mapped for a reason. I would like to see the rock under the stars more than one more time.
A little bit of the Magic revealed to the world.
