Mum was on the ball there are turtles and carp in the lake.

It's hard work when you are only small !!! sadly the survival rate is small

Peter we watched a pair when we lived in Spearwood they started with 6 but only ended up with one, thats when I found out they are also prey for the turtles when they are small. they had only two left by the time they got larger.
