The red planet

The red planet
On a night that startled with bucketing rain, i got up later in the night to clear patch a shot due west from my back yard. I got these and the clouds came back so it was back to bed.

Gudrun, Erhard Bernstein, Peter_Private_Box have particularly liked this photo

Hi Steve

I did wonder when these might appear!

I tried on thursday evening, and also got a little red disc, but yours is a bit bigger (and clearer) than mine, as you have a much bigger and better lens!
I missed the eclipse, as it was total cloud cover...

Best Wishes, and a good weekend.

Peter it is all about the lens but you have the advantage over me to get the same shot as my 600mm you only need a 400mm lens due to the crop factor. if you do want a bigger lens you only need to get like me Tamrons 150-600mm lens it will not break the banks and you are seeing the shots from it. that will give you an effective range of 225mm- 900mm more than me

i totally expected to be looking at clouds myself but got a shock to see this. all the very best to you.
