Baby : snake-necked turtle
The thick part of the leaf is 15mm wide if that, i had to stop my wife stepping on it as we walk around our swamp . this is the second on our walks we have seen around the swamp on the path in the three fine days we have been able to walk. the older gentleman who was walking behind us could not see it asked me if i needed a hand to get back up. he had never seen one before. i took my phone just in case yes its still wet.

Hi Steve

I like this picture very much! You certainly did well to spot it, and the leaf makes a great size comparison.

Best Wishes, and a good weekend.

Peter

PS, I hope that you had some success with the eclipse. We only had clouds!

thank you it is very small i have been tuned with years of collecting shells with my parents in the tropics so i see things more than most. my wife does not see about herself at all but is learning to look as things like this are there and pass her by. i also think i am interested in what is about me and topography.

i was presently surprised to see the moon through a hole in the clouds but i was prepared to not see anything at all. certainly cold and wet weekend.
