Bush fire 1

Bush fire 1
Clear evidence of all the burning we have been getting and the strong smoke. other side of the road to where we went out in the bush to Bolder Rock Still smells very strongly of burning.

Gudrun, John Goodwin, Marie-claire Gallet, Erhard Bernstein have particularly liked this photo

Marie all those trees are living you only see cosmetic damage but all the fire fuel is all gone before summer comes and the fires burn out of total control. as you can see very low fire fast burning and trees untouched. the animal will have all left first smell of smoke but they will be back for all the new growth. this has been practiced by the Aboriginals for many centuries.

In a way it is sad, but as you say it's normal for Australia..... I understand some plants need their seed to be burned before it will germinate.

that is so true but its a way of making fires manageable which has to happen here as fires get out of control very easily in summer.

It looks rather scary- let's hope the burning will help prevent the big ones!
