---------------------------------------------------
The Cathedral of San Lorenzo is the city's main church. It was built over what was once the temple dedicated to Hercules in pure Romanesque style. Not to be missed, in addition to the 14th century Sienese-Gothic bell tower, is the floor of rare beauty and the painting of the Blessing of Christ by Girolamo da Cremona, as well as the sarcophagus of Pope John XXI.
