The church of San Francesco is a religious building located in Gubbio, an inhabited center of Umbria.
The church was built in the second half of the XIII century near the fondaco of the Spadalonga family, who would have welcomed St. Francis of Assisi after his abandonment of his father's house. The church is probably work of the architect frà Bevignate from Perugia, even if its attribution is still object of discussion.
The bell tower, placed to the left apse, is not coeval to the rest of the church in how much it turns out constructed only in the XV century.
The completion of the church happened with the rose window that today is seen, is of 1958 and comes from the church of San Francesco to Foligno.
