Culvert's Root (Veronicastrum virginicum)

Very interesting plant. I've never seen one of these. before. I'll use the cat-tails for size comparison.

The size is not accurate by comparing it with the cattails, Ron. It is smaller, slender and almost done blooming. I estimate the height about 3 ft. This plant is rare in our area, too, the reason why I thought it important to show in my photo collection.
