Field of Giant Sunflowers (please enlarge)

Field of Giant Sunflowers (please enlarge)
Driving by 'Sunflower Valley' today. There is a huge field along old M21 in Lapeer County, Michigan that explodes with yellow at this time of year with millions of wild Giant Sunflowers (Helianthus giganteus).

cammino, micritter, Ronald Losure have particularly liked this photo

Wow! What a field of yellow. Wikipedia says this species grows in Mississippi. I'll have to recheck the sunflowers that are just beginning to bloom now.

Thanks, Ron.

Every year Richard and I stop along the road to admire this show. I remember that you had photos of the same flowers last year.

Thank you, micritter. I am pleased that you like the photo. This field is down in a dip from the road, so easily missed if you drive along this road very fast.
