On the snag in the middle of my pond. It was a hot day, so the bird was keeping its beak open.

Very soon, they will be flying across the Gulf of México to Central America.
I have seen none of them today - 30 September 2017. I guess they have departed. 2 October 2017: I haven't seen any hummingbirds since. They are really gone.

These birds are on my pond almost every day. I haven't become tired of watching or photographing them yet.

Two juvenile bald eagles had just been driven away from the nest. This one is guarding at least one chick.
