Oh Ronald, you lucky boy! We sometimes see Mallards on our seasonal pond but never something so exotic as a "Hooded Merganser"!! :D Congratulations! And that you had a camera with you when you spotted them! Aren't they a most stylish pair! I must say, they have extremely fancy hair, especially the blond! :)

Thank you for your visit and nice comment, Janet. The blond duck is the female. I have a couple of houses near and in the pond that I made for wood ducks that are used most years. I wouldn't mind if mergansers moved in.
