Flying squirrel

Flying squirrel
Glaucomys sabrinus. My "critter cam" will spot these squirrels right after they alight from their flight down from a nearby tree.

I didn't know they were here until some wildlife students had some at the Noxubee NWR refuge day a few years ago. Then I caught a few on my critter cam. I think they are strictly nocturnal.
