"A vote of no confidence has been adopted by a lecturers' union in a college governing body after it approved a 46% pay for its principal.
Judith Evans's salary at Coleg y Cymoedd soared from £98,916 in 2013 to £145,000 last year.
The vote was unanimously passed by 138 University and College Union (UCU) members, following a 0% pay rise offer in 2014/15 for lecturers.
A college spokesman said it was surprised by the vote."
Now whilst the above is not my place of work, this is exactly the kind of cr*p that we have to deal with on a yearly basis - senior staff getting ridiculous wage increases, whilst the rank and file are limited to 1% if we're lucky. These people are as bad as the politicians; their noses firmly in the trough whilst telling everyone else you can't have a decent wage because we can't afford it.
On a personal note, I now have to train some students to do my job - call me paranoid but who can't see where this is going? We also have a meeting next week to discuss further workload. More work. Always more work. Never any more money!
