In the late 1960s Dick Wagner was rejected from joining Blood, Sweat and Tears so he became the front man for a Michigan group called The Frost. During that time he wrote a tune that he said had "horrible lyrics". When he worked with Alice Cooper he presented the tune and together they reworked the words. The result was "Only Women Bleed". Dick performed the song with the Saginaw Bay Orchestra in 1997 at the Horizon Conference Center in Saginaw at a fund raising event titled "Pop To Rock".

Alice Cooper (Vince Furnier) recorded "Only Women Bleed" (Dick Wagner - Alice Cooper) for the 1975 top ten album "Welcome To My Nightmare". The single originally was issued as "Only Women" and concerned itself with domestic violence. This topped the Canadian chart while reaching number twelve on Billboard. Alice Cooper is the group name consisting of Alice Cooper, Dick Wagner, Pentti Glan, Steve Hunter and Prakash John on the album.
