Terence Boylan introduced "Shake It" (Boylan) on his 1977 self titled LP. Timothy B. Schmitt and Al Kooper help supply back up. Wikipedia: "At the age of 9, Boylan sent a letter to the U.S. National Institutes of Health requesting a $10 "grant" to build a rocket ship. The peer review panel was so impressed with the young boy's initiative that they each contributed money to total $10 to send to Boylan."

Once the frontman for Matthews Southern Comfort and male vocalist for Fairport Convention, Ian Matthews' (Iain McDonald) take on "Shake It" with Mel Collins on saxophone was released the next year on the album "Stealin' Home". The single peaked at thirteen on Billboard and top ten on Cashbox and in Canada.
