"Living In America" (Dan Hartman - Charlie Midnight) was issued by co-author Dan Hartman on the 1994 LP posthumously released "Keep The Fire Burnin'". Co-writer Charlie Midnight (Kaufman) wrote for the movies "The Bodyguard" and "Bull Durham".
James Brown released a single of "Living In America" in 1985 peaking at number four on Billboard. This was his last time in the top forty. The next year it earned James a Grammy for Best male R&B Vocal performance. The single version is on the soundtrack to Rocky IV where it was introduced. An extended version of the hit is on the album "Gravity" featuring Stevie Ray Vaughn on lead guitar and Dan Hartman on guitar, keyboards and backing vocal. Dan also produced the recording.
