Session musicians Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers formed Chic with Alfa Anderson, Luci Martin, Tony Thompson and Raymond Jones. This is the group's interpretation of "Upside Down" (Nile Rodgers - Bernard Edwards). Guitarist, songwriter, producer, arranger, musician Nile Rodgers influenced a generation of recording artists.

The writers also produced Diana Ross when she topped the Billboard pop, disco and soul charts with "Upside Down" in 1980. This was the first single from the album "Diana". Members of Chic supplied the instrumental background.
