Helen Reddy, Kim Carnes, Yvonne Elliman, Batdorf and Rodney along with co-writer Richard Kerr all released "Somewhere In the Night" in 1975. We start with Richard Kerr's version. The British composer also hit for Barry Manilow with "Mandy" and "Looks Like We Made It" and "I'll Never Love This Way Again" for Dionne Warwick.
Arguably (John) Batdorf and (Mark) Rodney were first to issue "Somewhere In the Night" (Will Jennings - Richard Kerr) charting at number sixty-nine. The single was never on any of their albums and they broke up shortly after the release.
Released at almost the same moment as Batdorf and Rodney, Helen Reddy's "Somewhere In the Night" peaked at number nineteen on the Top One Hundred and number two Easy Listening The single was the third from her album "Ain't No Way To Treat A Lady".
From the 1978 album "Even Now" comes the Barry Manilow cover of "Somewhere In the Night" which peaked at number nine.
