The Mugwumps were Cass Elliott, Denny Doherty (soon to be with the Mamas and the Papas), John Sebastian, Zal Yanovsky (soon to be The Lovin' Spoonful) and Jim Hendricks (not that one!) who wrote the Johnny Rivers hit "Summer Rain". Although not on their debut album they recorded John Sebastian's "Jug Band Music" it was released in 1966 along with "Bald Headed Woman" on the flipside of the Sidewalk Records release.

The Lovin' Spoonful (John Sebastian, Zal Yanovsky, Steve Boone and Joe Butler) charted here in Canada in 1965. It was the flip of their initial hit "Do You Believe in Magic". "Jug Band Music" can be found on the groups second album, "Daydream" and "The Best of The Lovin' Spoonful".
