This is the main street in Lochinver, Sutherland, and a vintage Ford leaving after refuelling at the local garage,
It has what I believe to be a Somerset licence plate, which is at the other end of the UK and my home county!
It is now 110 years old!

Another misty image from Keoldale Green, and the Kyle of Durness,
an image from 2012 which shows its age a little.
The second half of the virtual journey around the "North Coast 500" coastal road starts today

The tidal Kyle of Tongue in Sutherland with a cloud capped Ben Loyal as a backdrop,
Traffic crosses the Kyle on a causeway which forms part of the A838 North Coast 500 Road around the top of the country, and is listed as one of the most amazing and beautiful drives around Scotland. (This bench is in one of two picnic areas part way across the causeway)
The Kyle which is listed as a sea loch starts at Tongue Bay on the north coast and stretches inland for 7 miles (11 km)
In 16.9 format, so a large view is recommended

Moine House through the wind and fine driving rain of a Flow Country afternoon with Ben Loyal as a backdrop,
The Moine House name derives from the Gaelic word mòine which means “moss” or “peat.” The house sits on the edge of a vast bog that covers much of Sutherland and Caithness, known as Flow Country. The long stretch of bog between the Kyle of Tongue and Loch Hope was often referred to as A’ Mòine, simply meaning “The Moss.”
This area was difficult and dangerous for travelers to traverse until the 1830s when the Duke of Sutherland had a road constructed. The Mòine House was designed along the edge of this road as a shelter for travelers at the halfway point of the roadway. (www.atlasobscura.com)

Ben Loyal 764 m (2506.5 ft) is a Corbett which is the name given to a mountain in Scotland that is between 2,500 and 3000 feet in height, but it must also have a 500-foot drop on all sides,
This was captured just outside the village of Tongue on the A838 which forms a part of the North Coast 500 around the top of Scotland,
This is also just prior to the start of the 3.8 km (2.361 miles) causeway across the tidal Kyle of Tongue,
I wish you all a HFF and a good weekend
A large view would be appreciated.
