It's a difficult life for a tree when the strong and cold Atlantic winds blow through the Bristol Channel especially when they are on the high ground of Exmoor., The coast of South Wales is across the channel. HFF and take care !

The T/S Lord Nelson caught in the late afternoon sun while at anchor in the Bristol Channel, she was waiting for the tide to allow entry into the river Avon and Bristol Docks. The tall chimneys to the right of the ship belong to Aberthaw Power station across the channel in South Wales. Large for more detail please.

An unknown three masted sailing ship lies at anchor in the Bristol Channel as the late afternoon sun adds colour to the foreshore, the small waves,and the distant coast of South Wales. The high tidal range of the channel can be clearly seen in the image. Image taken from the England Coast Path at Blue Anchor Bay, Somerset. This is only way down to this section of the interesting rock formations that can be found on the foreshore at Kilve in Somerset, The water is the Bristol Channel and the distant coastline is South Wales.
