We often refer to the North Coast 500 road around the top of Scotland, this shows a small section of the A838, looking west towards Durness with the pointed Cranstackie peak which forms a part of the "Beinn Spionnaidh" mountain group and a corner of Loch Eribol, Captured on a cloudy and slightly misty day from just above "Ard Neakie" A large view may help with clarity!

At the very top of the UK mainland and another squall approaches across the loch, the wall has not fared well, time and the the Scottish weather have taken their toll, however the wild flowers will be pleased with a refresher. This is Ard Neackie which is a small scenic peninsula on the east side of Loch Eriboll joined to the mainland by a narrow isthmus and has an interesting history of lime quarrying (from the outcropping Durness Limestone), From scotland-landscapes.com Another scene from the North Coast 500 route that runs around the top of Scotland it starts and finishes in Inverness HWW to all, and a large view if possible!

Loch Eribol and the isthmus to Ard Neakie and it's four Lime Kilns with quarry situated behind the jetty, All constructed around 1880, Despite the overcast day the light was rather appealing, In 16.9 format so a Large view is strongly recommended! Uploaded for the "North Coast 500 Group"
