Remains,

22 Nov 2022 41 54 522
At the southern extremity of the Mull of Galloway are the remains of a once sturdy wall, A large view should reveal the Isle of Man and possibly the Lake District National Park beyond that. This is also the point where the Irish Sea, the North Channel and the Solway Firth meet, causing some currants and at times turbulent seas.

Smoke House

23 Oct 2022 38 54 360
Now Waterlines Heritage Centre and café this harbour building was formally a part of the fishing industry back in time when Lybster used to be one of Scotland’s largest herring ports, of particular note is the old smoke house on the far right of the image. By 1859 some 357 boats operated from the harbour, making it the third-busiest fishing port in Scotland, however only a handful of mainly crab boats work from the harbour these days. A music link with a very surprising ABBA version, www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5__bvSyXN4 HBM and a great week to you all

Beach Path and Rust,

07 Sep 2022 52 72 658
Although I'm not big on farm machinery, this abandoned farm equipment looks to be a muck spreader and could well be a 1950s model, any way I thought it anchored the shot nicely, The wall and fence indicate the footpath down to Farr beach at Bettyhill where the waves of Farr Bay lap gently onto the pale sand. This is a link to a Wurzels song, The Champion Dung Spreader, although they are a long serving Somerset band the guy on the Accordion Tommy Banner is the world's only Scottish Wurzel. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SH281p2u18 It may look better on black,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Wish you all a HFF and a lovely weekend

13 Feb 2022 40 52 553
Another grey day on Bridgwater Bay, It feels like it has been this way for ages however on this particular day the light was amazing (but still grey), I think the light must have fooled the sensor as I'm sure the grass was not quite that green ;-)) Large if you prefer. I wish everyone a good week.

Catkins +2 Pips

10 Feb 2022 45 92 366
A grey early February day at Steart on the Somerset coast brightened by the sight of Hazel Catkins in the hedgerow, Note the wall built of pebbles from the shorline, many others in area are built by the same method. HFF and a good safe weekend to everyone.

The Wall.

18 Dec 2021 32 50 489
A stone wall follows the contours as it snakes across the partially sunlit landscape with a view to the Isle of Sky's,Trotternish Ridge beyond. Enlargement will reveal what appear to be glacier lines in sides of the ridge, these feature in a number of places around the highlands.
