A kind of sea wall as this supports the A838 road and the causeway across the Kyle of Tongue, A sea loch in Sutherland at the very top of Scotland! The water to the right is open to the Atlantic ocean tides and elements! It is also a part of the North Coast 500 road around the top of the country! HWW!

A view of the point where the Kyle of Tongue ( a shallow sea loch) meets Tongue Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, Just offshore the uninhabited Rabbit Islands (except for the rabbits of course) The area was a historic crossroads for Gaels, Picts and Vikings and the area is named after an Old Norse term which refers to a piece of land shaped like a spit or tongue. On the Isle of Skye and looking across Loch Snizort to the Waternish Peninsula, the high ground in the far distance is the Duirinish Peninsula, Loch Snizort is a sea loch the mouth of which contains the Ascrib Islands and gives access to the Lower Minch. A large view may be rewarding.
