ipernity: Group: Promoting ipernity

14.2 Instagram

Here you can post ideas on how we can improve ipernity's visibility on Instagram. It would be desirable not just to brainstorm, but to come together in a productive working group to actually turn promising ideas into reality.

Here in the main article we will record agreed measures and name the volunteers who will take care of their realization.

Meanwhile two club members have offered to administrate our Instagram account:

Thanks raingirl. Given that Instagram was mainly intended as a way of sharing images, I feel that is exactly what we should do. If a core team of two or three volunteers (I'm happy to be one of them) would be willing to post a photograph to the Ipernity photostream every few days, then we could improve the visibility of the club a great deal. We would need to have a pool of photographs we could use. We also need to remember that the photos should have an aspect ratio of between 1x1 and 5x4. This can be circumvented by having a border around the photo of the appropriate ratio.

A second thing we could do is to get members who use Instagram to either put the address to their account in their profile, or to use a suitable hashtag. We should decide on a suitable hashtag for everyone to use.
