Das Ziergitter hinter Schloss Sansouci.

Schloss Sanssouci liegt leicht erhöht auf einer Anhöhe. Von der Rückseite des Schlosses hat man einen schönen Blick auf den Nachbarhügel, den sogenannten Ruinenberg. Dort hat man 1748 künstlich Ruinen (antike Säulen, Normannenburg) hingebaut, wegen des schönen Blicks, just for fun.

Obwohl Friedrich II. die französischen Monarchen als Widersacher betrachtete, war er doch sehr von der französischen Kultur beeindruckt. Viele Bauten und Parkanlagen entstanden nach französischem Vorbild. Am Hofe wurde auch nur Französisch gesprochen. Die Dienerschaft musste die Hunde mit 'Sie' anreden.

Da ist mir eingefallen welche Mühe es mir machte meiner Verwandtschaft aus einem kleinen Dorf im Oberen Vogtland zu DDR-Zeiten dort an dieser Stelle zu erklären, dass diese Ruinen nicht durch Verfall entstanden. Sondern absichtlich als Ruinen gebaut wurden.
