Kayaking Class

Kayaking Class
Later in the day, I saw these kayaks being loaded to a special trailer painted with the name of a high school. I wish there had been classes like this in my schooldays!

, Annemarie, , and 7 other people have particularly liked this photo

what were you doing at the car lot
now I am asking you this to put you on the spot ;-)
watching the other cars gleam and shine
were you wondering if one of them was mine ;-)
if it is there well I despair
but it accounts for me not finding mine here ;-)

(and thanks I smiled)

o0o if there is one thing I will not do .. cannot do ... won't do and that is go in a canoe,
to learn you have to be able to capsize and survive ... I would not survive and some would
say ... please Bev have a go ;-) hehehe well I won't be doing them a favour ;-) but seriously
I can dive in head first no problem ... but jump in feet first oh no ! and capsize a canoe
and survive oh no ! butterflies and canoes I am not sure which freaks me out most ;-)
but for those that love water sports like this ... wow I agree with you ... we never had these
opportunities when we were ..... !!!!!!!! what am I saying ;-) we are not golden oldies are we ;-) oOo

I sometimes go out fishing in a kayak and righting after a capsize is one of the 'essential skills'. Though you'd hope to not need it in normal use! I just thought it great that the kids are able to get out from their classrooms and have some exciting options for sport. :) There are plenty of larger boats though, some with useful things like bars and restaurants ... and if that makes us 'golden oldies' I'll accept that.

o0o when I used to take my trainees on "outward bound" courses and the like,
of course this was part and parcel of the course ... having said that I tried most
things ;-) but this is what I would not could not do ... ;-) yes indeed something
a little bigger with facilities to have a little "cin cin" suits me just fine being a
golden oldie well not sure about the golden bit, more white actually ;-) o0o

It does look like more fun than history class.

Yes, somehow I think it would even have been more rivetting than m y Latin classes too! :)

A beautiful and inviting image, nicely composed. And shot with a great lens--one of my favorites, that hefty Vivitar Series One.

Thank you ver ymuch, Bob. There were several variants of the Viv Series 1 70-210 lenses, by different makers: this is from the second variant made by Tokina.
