Backlit leaves of a Canadian Dogwood, taken on the last day of our autumn. Today it's officially winter.

We have two dogs, Coco (previous image) and Meg, who is a West Highland Terrier. We received Meg as a small pup and she has been raised by Coco - in the process acquiring a relaxed Labrador style temperament. She is supposed to be white, but that never lasts long as she rummages around in our garden. :-)

The Rainbow Lorikeets also enjoy the Callistemon (bottlebrush) flowers. Explored.

These gain their name from the red 'wattles', the small red pendant below their ears. They eat nectar, so with the callistemons (bottlebrush) coming into bloom it's 'party time' for them.

I'll wrap up my set from Mallacoota with these three handsome Australian Pelicans.

Later in the day, I saw these kayaks being loaded to a special trailer painted with the name of a high school. I wish there had been classes like this in my schooldays!
