Streamers on departure of "Nella Dan" from Melbourne, Dec 1965
Copied from an old slide (and, in retrospect, reduced too much in size here).
How much the world has changed! In those days, the custom in Australia was for passengers to throw rolls of streamers to their friends and loved ones staying behind, then hold them until they broke, as the ship pulled away from the wharf. Note too the fashions of the time.
