46SH Something I think is a treasure

46SH Something I think is a treasure
A silver coin from the year of my birth. I got this coin from my father before he died. But what comes to silver coins, this also reminds me from my first theft. As a kid, I accomplice to theft with my brother. We stole our aunt's silver coins to buy candies and ice cream. And when we got caught, we were told the value of these rare coins. I still feel ashamed.

Impressive story. You can always ask for forgiveness!

Silver guilders in Holland were minted until 1966/67, after that made of nickel. In 2001 many people paid with silver guilders although officially they weren't valid anymore

Nice how the minimal view of your fingers helps one know the size of the coin.

I love old money (ha, physical old money, no preference for 'old money' over 'new money' as an expression of a person's status...) and yours here is so special.

As to the theft, it appears that coin stealing from one's parent is common, at least that was my first theft as well. Finding coins in my mother's overcoats. I don't even know why I did it or what I used the money for. Comics maybe? I only recently told her that I did that (a confession 55 years later than it should have been). Time to let your shame go. I'm sure you have made up for it many times over since!
