Oh, I forgot to mention that!

I had it installed. So, I am not sure if it is really necessary. But I guess it is.

More testing required then... Thanks for the feedback.

Tested by removing Google Earth. Map still works on Picasa, and I am able to write the geolocation onto images and create smaller images for web.

Maybe you misunderstood my blog article(?) The purpose is not to use Picasa to add images onto Google services. The goal is only to add geolocation onto images before upload to ipernity.

I understoud your purpous, but when I'm on Picasa 3, I go in tools and then I can only choose geomark with google earth or post in google earth or export to Google earth . In any case I do have Google earth ?

Yes, but here's how I used Picasa:

1) Open the map tab on right margin.
2) Use there the search and zoom for approximate location (e.g. city name)
3) Then for example "drag" the image onto precise spot on the map and choose "Ok" on opening dialog. Or choose image, click green pointer on top left corner on map, and then drag that pointer onto exact location, and approve it with "Ok".
4) Picasa then writes the geotag on the image meta data. You will find that out when you upload the image to ipernity.
