The goal was to make a "macro zoom out shot".

To start with, I chose one isolated jigsaw puzzle piece on dark background. So, all other pieces were just out of the frame edge. Then I chose 1.5 sec for exposure time, as advised on many tutorials. That is because it then also gives enough time to keep the image still before starting to zoom, thus giving enough time for main subject to "draw out". So, I first held the camera still for ~1 second, and then started to move the camera out and also downwards a little. I chose to do this all handheld to purposefully get some "natural shaky touch". As you can see, image then gets lines of light drawn from out to in, and not the other way round.

All I did afterwards is "Boost" and some "Sharpen" on PicMonkey editor. The composition is original (no cropping).

And whenever you do such "intentional camera movement" images with long exposure, do remember it is "photography" ;-) So, it is all about lights that draws lines against dark background. With careful planning you can then choose which brightly lit objects draws what and where.
