On the Table (6)

The number six in parentheses above is arbitrary. Actually, I haven't counted the number of times I've photographed flowers on the table--plenty, surely. But on bleak winter days, when daylight is meager, bland, uninspiring, the color and flamboyance of flowers is sweet compensation.

That Vase of Flowers

Actually, not the same flowers as in the preceding photograph. Same vase, though, same table. Different camera. Pentax 645, SMC Pentax-A 75/2.8, Kodak Ektar 120 format film, ISO 100, f8 - 1".
On the Table in Morning Light

It has become almost a daily ritual, circling the vase of flowers when there's good light, looking from one point of view then another, one camera, another, a variation of lenses, of apertures. Too many pictures, no doubt, certainly more than can be shared without being indulgent. A pleasure nonetheless.

Light on the Fiddler's Back

It was quite a lively jam session, billed as gypsy jazz, mostly guitarists, but a few fiddlers, too, and a bass player. This fiddler played with gusto and skill, and he also sang a fine version of "I Can't Give You Anything but Love."

Journal Entry

I've kept a journal for years, sometimes writing daily, just as often letting weeks go by before resuming entries. Interesting to look back now and then, compare one day to another, same date-different year.
