Chrysanthemums, among others whose names I don't know. And I may be mistaken about the chrysanthemums.

A sunny day in January, not warm, but not cold either, in fact ideal hiking weather.

In this time of pandemic, indoors photography has become the challenge of the day. There may be flowers on the table--often there are and a pleasure to see--but sometimes sights such as this, light through the blinds across the unmade bed, suffice.
Remembering the Gardens

It has now been almost a year since the closing of the Gardens due to the pandemic. What a loss--how we took for granted those impulsive strolls, taking in the beauty, whether of springtime flowering or wintry decay, geese and heron on the broad pond. Only a year? It seems longer than that, even as time, in my own impending dotage, flies by.

The resurrection of an old lens, one I haven't used in some time, mainly because it's so huge and heavy. Wouldn't want to walk long distances with it, but for a short excursion it's fun to fool around with.

It actually forks here, descends through the woods along a creek, a pleasant hike--though a little more taxing on the uphill return.
Table Flowers

Not sure of the name of these flowers. To me, they look a little like ironweed. There's a sunflower lurking behind them, and still farther behind, one of Sue's paintings.

I was struck by the contrast of the gnarled roots and the swift, smooth flow of the water over the rocks.
