It's felt like summer the last couple of days, but the dogwood's blossoming and so it must still be spring.

Climbing is actually not allowed here, though there is another area reserved for intrepid rock climbers. I kept to the trail.

It was a beautiful day for a hike. This one was short, only about .8 of a mile, but rigorous enough, at least for this old man.

Though leaning down, and steeply at that, this flower still seems very alive. Heartening, for the time being.
Urban Buzzards

Alongside a fairly busy street, bordered on one side by a wooded area, these two turkey buzzards went about their business, unfazed by the passing cars. I couldn't tell for sure what was being eaten--not much of it left--but I imagine it was the remains of a squirrel that had been hit by a car. One bird greedily ate while the other stood to one side, strolling about, pecking at the ground.
