I'm not sure what tree this is--possibly beech?

In spite of all that's troublesome in the world, here's spring again.

It's felt like summer the last couple of days, but the dogwood's blossoming and so it must still be spring.

I couldn't tell for sure what was being eaten--not much of it left--but I imagine it was the remains of a squirrel that had been hit by a car. One bird greedily ate while the other stood to one side, strolling about, pecking at the ground.

A sunny day for a change. Maybe the bearer of the umbrella thought the sun wouldn't last and the rain return. Or maybe just sensitive to the sun.
