These photos are just wonderful Rosa. The youngsters are really cute and they seem very interested in their surroundings. You've captured them beautifully!

I have a male and female blackbird visiting my garden daily now...........now sign of any babies yet though. They must be nesting nearby, but I've no idea where.

An outstanding series. The chicks are adorable. They are so demanding and they look it too. "Hurry up and feed me" written all over them. You've got such lovely clear shots and the chicks really stand out against the background. I'd give you an extra star if I could.

Thank you Sarah. I think the babies saw me but the parents were too busy feeding them. Although the male blackbird will come very close to me and has even stepped indoors!

I was more surprised that they saw me but stayed. They probably wondered what that strange object was that I had in front of me ;-))

You captured these little blackbirds in such a lively and meaningful way in their different moments: in an image that I find delightful they even seem to bicker lively with each other.

Hi Rosa,

I am very impressed by the pics you got here!!!
A few years ago I had a blackbirds nest in the bush just outside my living room window. After setting up the camera on a tripod, and photographing them one by one as they left the nest for their first flight, my results were nowhere near as nice as what you have got. (Although having see these, I am tempted to revisit and see if I can reprocess them better..)

Yes I would revisit your pictures. I almost gave up getting some nice shots of them, then one evening, there they were and although it was through double glazing, at an angle, which doesn't help, I was quite pleased and think it's the best I can do. They are starting to lose their beautiful markings now, but they still run around after the adults!
