This narrow gate and ancient wall hide a coloured treasure. Splendid perspective, depth and exposure.
Warm greetings

Nicely composed to lead the eye into the picture, are all the buildings associated with a walled garden still there ? they went to incredible lengths to provide the house with fruit and vegetables

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Peter Castell club
Thank you Peter. Yes there are many buildings including the glass houses, old sheds and wells which are now covered. I noticed that my runner beans are doing better than theirs ;-)

Me too Pam. We had one when I lived on a farm. Nothing like as big as Stourhead, but I loved it.

That's a lovely entrance to the walled garden, and those Rhododendrons were presumably found on the woodland walk. ;-)

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Amelia club
You get there by crossing a lovely little arched bridge over the country road Amelia.
The rhododendrons were just before the woodland walk, near the house. I didn't have time to walk around the gardens but could see in the distance so many colours of rhododenron!

Ooh, I like a nice wander around walled gardens............there's nearly always something interesting to photograph.

I like this shot of the entrance...........with the ornate gate and the beautiful colours of the old bricks. Those steps are beautifully worn - it makes you wonder whose feet have walked up and down them and what tales they could tell.

Two lovely images in the PiPs, especially the first one with it's wonderful sharpness and detail.

First class photography Rosa!

I do too Keith and I like the one in your gallery very much. The old stones sure could tell a few stories!! The light pink was my favourite but both of them were huge trees!

Thank you so much for your very kind comments.
All the best, Rosa.

Thank you for your kind comments Doug. Looking at it now, it has that slight barrel shape...maybe I should have edited that! All the best, Rosa.
