mural “Capax Infiniti” - Created by Faith47

14 Jul 2020 31 33 277
this woman has been gracing our downtown for years, classing up the place viewable due to an open parking lot. now construction has begun on a building in that parking lot, but i'm happy to see that it looks like they are at least going to preserve the art. unknown how visible it will be in the end. credit to the muralist: Created by Faith47, one of the most famous female street and graffiti artists in the world. Entitled “Capax Infiniti” (“Holding the Infinite” in Latin), the South African muralist painted this beautiful piece showing a ghost-like woman with her back turned to us.” — Street Art News and Wikipedia. [I put a PIP with a link to someone's photo of this art work before construction began - worth seeing! - for some reason the PIP doesn't show the image directly, but it does link to the right place if you click on it.] May have been installed in 2014 or thereabouts.

pearls

SSC - mementos The story has many layers, but as simply as I can, my mother gave me a string of pearls when I was young. I loved them and wore them quite a bit. But one day they were stollen from my home. My mother replaced them. Then I wore them all the time - when I got married, when I went to the grocery store, when I was nursing my babies and they held and fiddled with them. Many of them wore out, the string broke more than once. I restrung them, I paid to have them restrung. My husband replaced the worn out pearls, and now once again I wear them almost all the time. They are my treasure.

HHF! (i made it - it's still Friday where i am...) hopefull if you view this big you can see that the fence slats shrink on the right. i was fascinated by this for a few nights in a row. (i have another photo with the inbetween spaces being even larger bokeh spots, but i thought this one went better with the in focus fence. maybe i should triptych it...
