Noisy humbug

Noisy humbug
The scene looking through my window into the next plot. The demolition of the nice 1950s bungalow took 3 months and on the same footprint the construction of 4 x 3-storey town houses will take another 3 months! All this follows on from a similar project which lasted for 4 months over the winter in the plot on the other side of here.

Not exactly a comfortable environment but many have a far greater suffering to contend with.

It is unlikely I will be able to reply to all comments today but I will try. HFF with best wishes to all.

Steve Bucknell, tiabunna, Ecobird, Pam J and 8 other people have particularly liked this photo

All that dust and noise and in the end you'll have to look onto an ugly box....The walls look pretty flimsy too;-) But the weather looks fine, so you can escape- HFF, Neil!

The weather is wonderful and hot...by our standards, but I have so much to do that this is very little time to go out. If I open the windows everything is soon covered in dust and they all seem to have voices like foghorns. Meanwhile life goes on...for most of us.

You seem to have a lot of noise, dust and disruption to contend with Neil............not ideal living conditions. You just have to hope that it runs to schedule and finishes on time..............and then hope that you don't get a bunch of noisy neighbours..!!

You could always make a bit of a project of it.........take photos each day and maybe present copies to your new neighbours as a record of how their houses were built.

Anyway, I hope that despite all that, you are well. HFF to you my friend.

Considering events around the world which make the news bulletins it is all rather trivial, but still annoying nevertheless.....but it has presented me with a few photo opportunities along the way.
The weather has been top drawer of late and I hope you are able to enjoy it this weekend. I will.

HFF, Keith.

I'm not working this weekend for a change..............but I have so much to do that I don't think I'll get much chance for photography. Everywhere will be very busy as it's the Bank Holiday..!!

We too will suffer this fate in the next year except there will be 5000 houses where fields are right now. Ah well ! HFF and a happy holiday weekend.

I hope there will be some breathing space for you between your home and the new houses, Maurice. All the cars around here are getting covered in dust daily and that is from what is essentially one building!
Your comment cheered me up as I did not realise this was a long w/e ;-)
HFF and a happy weekend to you as well.

At least this gives you a theme for the HFF group... even if it is not a consolation. We have the same where I live, they are destroying all that was natural to replace it by artificial and concrete... a shame...
HFF anyway

Nightmare...

I truly feel for you and Mouse.

One of the reasons we moved out here was because it was happening all around us in town.

Out here.. chances of it are drastically small.. but I never say never...

In that case I hope you feel well, as I always do.

Most of us have had this experience because unfortunately there will always been a need for extra housing...until the moon gets populated.

I sympathise Neil. Our town is becoming a massive building project in preparation for a new power station with roads being dug up, traffic disruption and lots of building work going ahead to accommodate a huge influx of workers. I hope you get a bit of peace over the Bank Holiday though. It must be pretty miserable there with all that noise. A belated HFF to you
