A right royal mess!

A right royal mess!
A floating pontoon platform, crumbling by Southampton's Royal Pier.
Clearly in need of a little TLC before it will be happy again.

I also think the Health & Safety people should make a recommendation for more fencing...at least!

HFF!

Explored! ....at your peril

Diane Putnam, Jan, Roger Dodger, Ecobird and 18 other people have particularly liked this photo

Tiredness maybe the reason for poor appearance, but it is not a valid excuse!

HFF and a hope you have a good weekend, George.

It seems one can still go there-strictly at your own risk, though;-) Sensible of you to just take a photo although the mess looks very picturesque. HFF, Neil!

If it is now on your list of things to see, then you could kill two birds with one stone if you 'hop on one of those ferries' which you mentioned ;-))

Have a happy weekend, Gudrun!

Great capture. I hope it receives the needed repairs before it falls apart.
Polyrus has replied to Don Sutherland club
Thanks for your input, Don. There is probably no use for it nowadays and should there be a requirement in the future, it would probably be cheaper to built a new one rather than repair it.

A wonderfully cluttered image Neil with a plethora of fences and lots of other stuff to look at..!! An eyesore maybe, but a photogenic eyesore..!!

HFF to you my friend and enjoy your weekend.

Many thanks, Keith.
When I took this shot I was surrounded by people holding cameras, yet none seemed to be shooting this scene....and some were giving me strange looks because I was ;-)
The w/e is going well so far as I hope it is for you.

Keith Burton club has replied to Polyrus
You're welcome Neil. Not everyone looks for the more unusual shots.........that makes it even better when you get something decent that no one else has.

Glad you had a good weekend. I've been working, but I have some time off from Wed.

Thank you kindly, Carol. This landing stage looks as if it has gone beyond the stage of needing anything. I think it is deceased.

The old pontoon may still be floating, but something has definitely sunk behind it; amazing what gets left lying around, still it gives you an interesting subject! Nicely captured!
